Baby Mimo – Privacy Policy

Baby Mimo ("we," "our," or "us") is a baby moment/milestone/feed/sleep/diaper tracking app designed for parents and caregivers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our app.

We take children's privacy seriously. While this app records information about babies and young children, it is designed for use by parents and guardians — not by children themselves.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you sign in with Apple, we receive:

Your Apple-provided user identifier
Your name (if you choose to share it)
Your email address (if you choose to share it)

We do not collect passwords. Authentication is handled entirely by Apple's Sign in with Apple service.

1.2 Baby Profile Information

You provide the following when creating a baby profile:

Baby's name
Date of birth or expected due date
Gender
Profile photo (optional)
Premature birth information, if applicable (gestational age, corrected age)

1.3 Moments & Milestones

When you record moments, we store:

Moment titles and descriptions
Achievement dates and baby's age
Notes you add
Tags and categories

1.4 Photos & Videos

When you attach media to a moment, we store:

Photos (JPEG format)
Videos (MP4 format)
Thumbnails generated from your media

1.5 Location Information

We do not track your location. We do not request GPS or location permissions from your device.

If you attach a photo or video that contains embedded GPS metadata (EXIF data), we may extract that location information and display it alongside the moment. This is entirely derived from media you choose to add. You can see the location before saving and can customize or rename location labels.

1.6 Growth Measurements

If you record growth data, we store:

Height, weight, and head circumference
Measurement dates and notes

1.7 Postcards

When you create and send a physical postcard, we collect:

Recipient's name and mailing address (used solely for postcard delivery)
Your optional personal message (printed on the postcard back)
Postcard front and back images (generated from your moments)

This information is shared with our postcard printing and delivery partner, Lob, to fulfill your order. See Section 9 for details.

1.8 Analytics

We collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the app. Analytics events include actions like "moment created" or "app launched," along with:

A random session identifier (regenerated each app launch)
App version and iOS version
Event timestamps and duration

Analytics do not include baby names, photos, notes, health data, location coordinates, email addresses, or any content you enter. We do not use any third-party analytics services. Analytics are stored in Apple's CloudKit public database and are not shared with third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide the app's core features: tracking moments, storing photos, recording growth
Sync your data across your Apple devices via iCloud
Enable family sharing so you can invite family members to view or contribute to a baby's profile
Print and deliver physical postcards featuring your moments
Send you optional local notifications (milestone reminders, monthly summaries)
Process your subscription and postcard purchases through Apple's App Store
Improve the app through anonymous analytics

We do not:

Sell your data to anyone
Share your data with advertisers
Use your data for targeted advertising
Use third-party tracking or analytics SDKs

3. Data Storage & Security

3.1 Where Your Data Is Stored

On your device: All data is stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework.
In iCloud: If you are signed in to iCloud, your data syncs to Apple's CloudKit servers. This is governed by Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy. Data is stored in your personal iCloud storage quota.

3.2 Security

Data in transit to iCloud is encrypted by Apple.
Authentication is handled by Apple's Sign in with Apple, which uses industry-standard security.
We do not operate our own servers. All cloud infrastructure is provided by Apple.

4. Family Sharing

You can invite family members to access a baby's profile. When you share:

Invited members can view the baby's profile, moments, photos, and growth data, depending on the role you assign (Parent, Caregiver, or Viewer).
You control who has access and can revoke access at any time.
Your personal account information is not shared with invited members.
Shared data is stored in Apple's CloudKit shared database.

5. Children's Privacy

This app is designed for parents and guardians to record moments about their children. Children do not use this app directly.

All baby data is entered and controlled by the parent or guardian who holds the account.
We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction).
Parents have full control to view, edit, and delete all baby data at any time.
Parents can delete an entire baby profile, which removes all associated moments, media, and growth data.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us directly, please contact us so we can remove it.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Moment deletion: When you delete a moment, it is soft-deleted (hidden from the app) and permanently removed after 30 days. This delay ensures the deletion syncs reliably across all your devices and shared family members.
Media deletion: When you remove a photo or video from a moment, the media file is soft-deleted and permanently removed after 30 days, following the same sync-safe deletion process as moments.
Profile deletion: Deleting a baby profile removes all associated data, including moments, media, growth measurements, and postcards.
Account deletion: You can delete your account, which removes your personal data.
iCloud data: Data stored in iCloud is subject to Apple's data retention policies. You can manage your iCloud storage through your device settings.

7. Notifications

The app may send:

Local notifications: Milestone reminders and monthly summaries, based on your preferences. These are generated on your device and are not sent through any external service.
Silent background notifications: Used by iCloud to keep your data in sync across devices. These are not visible to you.

You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.

8. Subscriptions

Subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store.
We do not collect or store your payment information. Apple handles all billing.
Subscription status (active, expired, trial) is verified through Apple's StoreKit framework.

9. Third-Party Services

Apple Services:

iCloud / CloudKit — data sync and storage
Sign in with Apple — authentication
StoreKit — subscription and postcard purchase management
Apple Push Notification service — silent sync notifications

Postcard Printing & Delivery:

Lob (lob.com) — We use Lob to print and mail physical postcards. When you place a postcard order, the recipient's name and mailing address, your personal message, and the postcard images are transmitted to Lob for fulfillment. Lob processes this data in accordance with their Privacy Policy. We do not share any other account or baby profile data with Lob.

We do not integrate any advertising networks or external analytics platforms.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access all data stored about you and your baby through the app
Edit any information at any time
Delete moments, baby profiles, or your account
Revoke sharing access for any family member
Disable analytics collection
Export data through Apple's iCloud data portability tools

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
